First Project:

MAAHIR Educational Project- (Collaboration with Urwah Educational Trust)

Objective: Sponsoring educational needs of poor Muslim children living in slum localities of Yousufguda, Hyderabad.

Details: MAAHIR, for its first project, has teamed up with Urwah Educational Trust in Hyderabad to sponsor poor students in order to ensure that they are able to continue and progress with their school education.

Urwah Educational Trust is a reputed organisation established over 17 years ago. The objectives of this organisation match closely the Educational objective of MAAHIR and are as follows:
-Provide quality education to the under privileged sections of our society. – Integrate modern and Islamic education so the next generation is better equipped for the future.
– Provide a cost effective and affordable education while remaining a non-profit organisation.

The Trust is managed well and is regularly audited. There are 4 schools managed by this Trust- 3 English medium schools up to secondary level which are recognised by the State Government and 1 Girls school where students pursue government sylabbus plus Alima Course.

Role of MAAHIR Group: In the first year the group is keen to sponsor one year’s education for 25 students (Boys and girls in their 9th/10th Class). The intention is to establish close links with the Urwah Educational Trust and in addition to financial assistance be able to offer support with mentorship workshops, Career Guidance and improve skills of interested students in areas like Information Technology and Public Speaking over the next few years.
